OREM, Utah - The Southern Utah University women's volleyball team competed against Utah Valley on Thursday, Nov. 9, falling short in three sets. The Thunderbirds move to 6-19 on the season and 2-13 in Western Athletic Conference play, while the Wolverines improve to 10-16 overall and 7-8 in WAC play.

"We served and passed well, we need to line up better blocking wise to slow them down and generate more kills on our side."

TOP T-BIRDS

• Andrea Spasojevic led the Thunderbirds' attack, racking up 10 kills.

• The offense flowed through Allison Rohrer, who compiled a team-high 21 assists.

• Defensively, Arianna Rossi (13) and Spasojevic (12) each recorded over 10 digs.

• Hana Makonova protected the net, tallying two blocks for SUU.

MATCH RECAP

The first set was a tight contest. The two squads matched each other point for point, as the score was tied at 19-19 toward the end of the period. However, the Wolverines would pull away in the end, taking the set 25-20.

Charlotte Wilson and Andrea Spasojevic each tallied three kills to fuel the T-Birds offense in the second period, but it wasn't enough as UVU claimed the set 25-15.

The Wolverines overcame a combined six kills from Hana Makonova and Spasojevic in the third set, as Utah Valley went on to win the set 25-16 and the match 3-0.

UP NEXT

The Thunderbirds will play their final match of the season on Saturday, Nov. 11, as they head to Seattle University. The match is slated to begin at 8 p.m. MT.
