Meet the players

Junior

Tanyatorn (Excel) Thalangkarn

During the 2022-23 Fall season Thalangkarn competed in all 12 rounds for the Thunderbirds with her best finish coming at the Golf Iconic Classic with a +10, T44. In the same tournament, turning in her lowest round of the season at a -2, 70.

Thalangkarn had an impressive sophomore season in 2021-22, making drastic improvements from her freshman year, and she will look to make another leap during her junior season.

Thalangkarn competed in all 27 rounds throughout the regular season for SUU, as well as the Big Sky Conference Tournament. She compiled an average score of 77.62 throughout the season, improving her average by almost 2.5 strokes from her freshman year. Thalangkarn had a season-low round of 73 on the final day of play at the Aggie Invitational. She had the best outing of her career at the 2022 Big Sky Conference Championship, shooting an impressive 224 (+8) over three rounds, finishing with the second-best score for SUU and taking 16th place overall for the tournament.

Cornelia Karlsson

Karlsson is looking to get things back on track after a rocky Fall season. In nine rounds for the Thunderbirds Karlsson averaged 85.22 strokes per round, up from her sophomore year average of 80.92.

Karlsson's best finish came at the Golf Iconic Classic, where she finished at +35, 79th overall.

Sophomores

Anais Guibal

Guibal had a strong start to her Sophomore year, averaging 76.25 strokes per round, good enough for second on the team. Guibal's best outing came at the Golf Iconic Classic where she shot three consecutive rounds of 73 (+3), good enough for a T18th. The team's second best finish of the Fall season

Expect Guibal to consistently be in the lineup for the Thunderbirds and shooting low scores throughout the 2022-23 Spring season.

Freshmen

Grace Singpraseuth

Singpraseuth makes her way to Cedar City by way of Boise, Idaho where she competed for Cole Valley Christian Schools throughout high school, in addition to playing for The Club at Spurwing C.C. Singpraseuth has compiled an exceptional resume throughout her youth career, including being selected to the North Pacific Junior League Team and qualifying for the IMG Junior World Championships. She has an 18-hole best score of 69 (-3) and an average 18-hole score of 73. Singpraseuth will provide quality depth for the Thunderbirds and seek to carve out a consistent role in the Southern Utah lineup.

Natcharee (Irene) Thanchitnithithanya

A native of Chonburi, Thailand, Thanchitnithithanya has had a phenomenal youth career thus far. Over the past two years, she has recorded 10 top-ten finishes and two outright victories in 15 events. Thanchitnithithanya won the 2022 Asian Amateur Championship this past June, 1-under-par 215 across three rounds of action at the Siam Country Club Rolling Hills in Pong, Thailand to claim victory. Thanchitnithithanya has also competed for the Thailand Women's National Team over the past year, following a first-place finish at the Thai National Team Selection Competition, where she shot a phenomenal 287 (-1) over the course of four rounds to claim victory and earn a spot on the National Team. Since January, she has competed in six different events with the Thai National Team.

Tsara Ralamboarison

Ralamboarison joins the Southern Utah women's golf program from Eybens, France. She had an exceptional youth career, compiling six top-10 finishes and two outright victories in 14 events. She secured victories at the Grand Prix de la Loire and the Grand Prix De Saint-Donat, while taking second place at the Prix de Saint Germain. Ralamboarison has been ranked as high as 385th in the world by World Amateur Golf Rankings.

Ralamboarison has already made an impact during her freshman season, carding a team best 75.92 strokes per round. Her best outing of the Fall was a T43rd, which she accomplished twice, at the Hobble Creek Fall Classic (+20), and the Clash at Boulder Creek (+7).

Chanika (Pleum) Yongyuan decided not to stay for the spring season, and instead has elected to pursue qualifying for the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) on the Epson tour.

Yongyuan leaves behind a historical legacy at SUU and we wish her all of the best.
