SAN DIEGO, Calif – Men's golf concludes their best tournament of the season finishing under 300 as a team in all three rounds and coming home with a 15th-place finish. 

The T-Birds hadn't broke 300 strokes in a round all season and hope the positive play will continue.

1st - Eirik Thomassen – CSU Northridge (-20)

2nd - Nathan Cogswell – Seattle U (-14)

3rd - Exequiel Rodriguez – Oklahoma Christian (-11)

WAC Leaderboard

2nd - Seattle U (-30)

6th - Utah Tech (-16)

8th - California Baptist (-13)

15th - Southern Utah (+11)

The Thunderbirds

Rashon Williams had his lowest three-round score in his career with SUU, going 72-71-71 in the tournament and finishing T29, two under par. Williams didn't have a single double bogey in the tournament and poured in 13 birdies. He played the Par 5's in nine under par. 

Mitchell Abbott did what he has done all year, played extremely consistent golf, firing rounds of 72-75-71, finishing the tournament at two over par T50. Abbott has yet to finish outside the top 50 in any event this season. 

Jaxon Long had a heck of a third round, with a birdie and two eagles on the card. He comes into the clubhouse at one under on the day and finishes the tournament +5, T65.

Leo Torres was just unable to find the scoring on the final day, 14 pars, three bogeys, and one double bogey saw him finish five over on the day and +8 T77 on the tournament. 

Church's Chair

Head Coach Richard Church was pleased with the way his team performed in the tournament. Was happy to finally see some scoring and some under-par finishes. He is hopeful that the solid play will continue throughout the remainder of the season.

The boys will have a quick turnaround when they tee it up at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic in Scottsdale Arizona at the Whirlwind Golf Course on April 3-4.
