ARLINGTON, Texas - The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) announced its preseason coaches' poll today for the upcoming 2023 season. The Southern Utah University women's volleyball team was picked to finish eighth overall, earning 34 points in the poll.
The Thunderbirds finished the 2022 campaign with a 7-17 record, including a 6-8 finish in conference play en route to earning a place in the WAC Tournament.
Southern Utah will open the season next Friday on Aug. 25 at the Bakersfield Tournament in California. The 'Birds will first play Providence College at 1:00 p.m. MT. before facing Eastern Washington at 6:00 p.m. MT.
The T-Birds will return to the America First Event Center on Sept. 8 as they host Fresno State at 6:30 p.m. MT. The first WAC matchup of the year will be on Sept. 21 as the Thunderbirds take on Grand Canyon in Cedar City at 6:30 p.m. MT.
