CEDAR CITY, Utah - After a week off from competition, the Southern Utah Men's and Women's Cross Country teams are back in action this Saturday, Sept. 16th at the UC Riverside Invitational.

SUU began their season on Friday, Sept. 1st at the UVU Invitational. On the men's side, junior Coleman Cragun led the way finishing 13th overall with a time of 14:51.6, two spots behind him in 15th was freshman Jacob Peterson compiling a time of 14:53.3 while sophomore Lanse Larsen finished in 28th overall, recording a time of 15:13.3.
For the women, sophomore Addison Dalton led the pack in 18th overall, recording an 18:04.4, followed close behind by junior Madison Patrick and freshman Taylor Jorgensen, who finished 27th and 31st overall with a time of 18:26.5 and 18:40.8 respectively.
UC Riverside Invitational
The race will take place at the 420-acre UCR Agricultural Course, with the field featuring familiar WAC opponents such as Grand Canyon, Utah Tech and Cal Baptist along with PAC-12 programs Arizona and USC.
The 'Birds will feature many of their seniors for the first time this season, including Clayton Adams and Santiago Gaitan for the men and Quinn Hagerman for the women. They will be well represented at the competition with 28 athletes running for both the men and the women.
Competition will begin bright and early with the women starting at 8:15 a.m MT and the men following shortly after at 8:50.
