CEDAR CITY, Utah -- SUU's Men's Golf team will open their 2023 Fall Season with a trip to Colorado to play in the Ram Masters Invitiational hosted by Colorado State University on Sept 6 and 7.

Course: Fort Collins Country Club - Fort Collins, Colo.
Course Par/Yardage: Par 70 / 7,218 yards
Tee Times: 8 am MT shotgun start on Wednesday. Tee times (#1 & 10) beginning at 8 am Thursday

Format: The 13-team field will be participating in a 54-hole collegiate tournament to be played at the par 70, 7,218-yard Fort Collins Country Club, located in Fort Collins, Colo. Playing in foursomes, the golfers will play 36 holes in a shotgun start on Wednesday. Pairings for Thursday's tee times for the final 18 holes, will be determined by team score. The low four individual scores will determine the team scores for each round.

The team went through 72 holes of qualifying to determine the top six players that would participate in the first tournament of the season.
1 - Colton Cherry
2 - Mitchell Abbott
3 - Leo Torres
4 - Luke Barnes
5 - Jaxon Long
6 - Donovan Barnes (Individual)
Mitchell Abbott led the team a season ago with a scoring average of 74.5, with Jaxon Long and Leo Torres not far behind at 77. Colton Cherry only competed in two tournaments for the Thunderbirds last season but is playing good golf and will lead the line-up for SUU. Luke Barnes, the local signee, was the only freshman to qualify for SUU and will look to hlep the team right away. Donovan Barnes will be competing as an individual, he appeared in three tournaments last season for SUU.
