The Lopes
GCU is once again a powerhouse in Women's Soccer. Currently ranked 68th in the National Women's Soccer RPI, they boast a 9-4-1 record overall and a perfect 3-0 record in conference play.
They average just under a goal and a half per game and have impressive wins against Northern Arizona, Air Force, and at Nevada.
It is truly a team effort from the Lopes, with nine players earning at least four points on the year and 14 different players recording a goal.
Ellie Crisler has the most points on the team with seven, coming off three goals and an assist. And AJ Loera has recorded six points on one goal and four assists.
Perhaps the most crucial piece of the team is goalkeeper DeAira Jackson, who has only allowed 10 goals on the year, on an 81% save percentage, and has logged six shutouts.
The Thunderbirds
SUU is coming off an impressive soccer stretch that has seen the Thunderbirds host the top-ranked team in the conference for three consecutive games and hold those teams scoreless for three out of four halves.
Darya Mosallaei, coming off a shutout against Seattle U, has won the Western Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Week award.
Whitney Gardner was sidelined for the last match against Utah Valley but will be back in action and looking to add to her impressive season. She leads the team in total points (11) and goals scored (4) and is tied for most assists (3).
Sarah Assumma has scored three goals on the year and had quality opportunities to add to that total in both matches last week.
