CEDAR CITY, Utah - The Southern Utah University Track & Field program is proud to announce that Dylan Gibson has been named the Western Athletic Conference's Men's Track Athlete of the Week after shattering three school records last weekend at the Don Kirby Invitational.
Head Coach Eric Houle Said:
"What an accomplishment for Dylan to be one of the all-time fastest 400-meter athletes in the WAC and the country. This speaks to his dedication and love for the sport. He's a great example of a student-athlete and a team leader. Congratulations!"
This recognition comes after Gibson took the top spot in the 400m with a time of 46.21 seconds, placing him at 21st in the event across the NCAA. He also snagged second place in the 200m, clocking in at 20.99 seconds, and participated in the 4x400m relay, which combined for 3:08.36. With these finishes, Gibson now claims three new school records.

Track & Field will prepare for postseason play as they head to the University of New Mexico to participate in the Western Athletic Conference Championships on Monday, Feb. 19, and Tuesday, Feb. 20.
