CEDAR CITY, Utah - The Southern Utah University track & field program is set to begin its 2024 outdoor season this Friday, Mar. 22, and Saturday, Mar. 23 at the Aztec Invitational and Utah Tech Invite.

Head Coach Eric Houle Said:

"It'll be nice to get outdoors in warm climates to start our outdoor season. Jumpers and Sprinters are heading to San Diego, where there will be some tough competition. The Distance team and throwers will be heading to Utah Tech, where they can focus on setting some good opening marks."

Meet Info

The Aztec Invitational will be primarily hosted at the Aztrack Sports Deck on San Diego State's main campus.

The field will feature in-state rivals Utah Valley, BYU, and Utah along with other strong competitors, including Arizona State, UC Irvine, and UNLV.

Competition is set to begin with the decathlon on Friday, Mar. 22 at 10:00 a.m. MT and will wrap up with the men's 4x400m relay on Saturday, Mar. 23 at 6:15 p.m. MT.

The Utah Tech Invite will occur at Greater Zion Stadium, home of the Utah Tech Trailblazers.

Among those participating include many in-state opponents, including Utah Valley, Utah State, and Salt Lake Community College.

The meet will start with the women's discus throw on Friday, Mar. 22 at 4:00 p.m. MT and conclude with the men's 4x400m relay on Saturday, Mar. 23 at 2:20 p.m. MT.
