CEDAR CITY, UTAH -- The SUU Women's Soccer team will welcome the Eagles of Eastern Washington on Thursday, August 29, at 2:00 p.m.

Head Coach Kai Edwards said

"Eastern Washington is a well-coached and organized team. We have had a good week of training and I am excited to watch our team perform together on Thursday."

The Thunderbirds
SUU fell to 0-3 after a tough loss in the home opener against UNO, for which the Thunderbirds led most of the game. Whitney Gardner registered her first points of the season, scoring the opening goal against UNO. Gardner and Chelsea Loeser lead the team in total shots with ten, and both have one goal apiece. 

Darya Mosallaei has played every minute in the Thunderbirds' net and currently has a save percentage of 58%.

Thunderbirds have outshot their opponent 45-37 on the year, and of those 45 shots, 21 have been on target. 

The Eagles
Eastern Washington is having an impressive start to the season. Coming off of back-to-back wins at Kennesaw State and South Dakota, they sit at 2-1 overall on the year. They have scored six goals on the year and shut out South Dakota 2-0. 

Riley Arribas leads the team with three points on the year, registering one goal and one assist. All six goals on the year have come from a different player. 

EWU was picked to finish eighth in the Big Sky Preseason poll.
