PROVO, UTAH -- The Southern Utah Men's and Women's Track and Field Teams wrapped up their first meet of the 2025 season at the BYU Cougar Invitational on Jan. 9-11.
Head Coach Eric Houle said
"We had some athletes show us some good things. It is the first indoor meet of the year and I am pleased with our performance amongst some tough competition."

MEET RESULTS
Emelia Thurston impressed by finishing third in the Long Jump with a jump of 18'4.5". Melissa Crane finished eighth with a leap of 16'9.5".
Sabrina Wright finished third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.30 and Mia Kauffman finished ninth with a time of 1:16.52.
Three Southern Utah teams finished in the top 6 of the Women's 4x400 meter dash, with the team of Sabrina Wright, Maya Benjamin, Jordyn Nielson, and Andie Rasmussen finishing third with a time of 4:02.81.
Two Southern Utah Teams finished fourth and fifth in the Men's 4x400 meter relay, with the team of Noah Bringhurst, Nick Pembroke, Jackson Tarver, and Jaedyn Carpenter finishing fourth with a time of 3:21.90. The team of Kody Smith, Jared Sharp, Ammon York, and Dawson Stokes finished fifth with a time of 3:28.67.

The Thunderbirds will have a short week as they prepare for their next meet, the Snake River Open, which will start on January 16.
