Cedar City, Utah- After multiple top-three finishes last week, the Thunderbirds track and field teams are back on the road. They are in action this weekend at the Snake River Open in Pocatello, Idaho, beginning this Thursday, January 16.

"It's another good weekend to post some good marks, and all of our events last week were a great start for us, so we're excited to continue the progress."

The competition will be held at the Holt Arena on the campus of Idaho State University.Â
The field will include the University of Utah, BYU, Utah Valley, Utah Tech, Utah State, Weber State, Montana Tech, Westminster, Montana Western, College of Southern Idaho, and Salt Lake Community College.

Competition will begin at 1:00 p.m. on January 16 with combined 60-meter hurdles and finish at 1:10 PM on January 18 with the women's 4x400 meter relay.
Last Time Out
The Thunderbirds competed at the BYU Cougar Invitational last week.
The women's team was led by the 4x400 meter relay team of Sabrina Wright, Maya Benjamin, Jordyn Nielson, and Andie Rasmussen finishing third with a time of 4:02.81.Â
Two Thunderbirds finished in the top 10 in the 400-meter dash, with Sabrina Wright finishing third with a time of 59.30 and Mia Kauffman finishing 9th with a time of 1:16.52. Savannah Nielson also finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.85.
In the long jump, Emelia Thurston finished third with a jump of 18'4.5''.
On the men's side, the team of Noah Bringhurst, Nick Pembroke, Jackson Tarver, and Jaedyn Carpenter finished fourth in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:21.90. In the same event the team of Kody Smith, Jared Sharp, Ammon York, and Dawson Stokes finished fifth with a time of 3:28.67.
Isley Gutierrez finished fifth and Jarom Smith finished sixth in the high jump with jumps of 6'4.5'' each.
