Thunderbirds Announce 2025–26 Indoor Track & Field Schedule

CEDAR CITY, Utah — Southern Utah track and field released its 2025 indoor schedule Friday, laying out a steady mix of early-season tune-ups and competitive tests leading into the WAC Championships. The Thunderbirds will travel throughout the West this winter, competing at several familiar venues as they prepare for postseason competition.

Head Coach Eric Houle Said

"The schedule will allow our athletes to compete at a very high level. Starting with this weekend in Boston, where I have sent some of our top Distance athletes to compete against the best athletes in the country. Hopefully, this schedule will keep this program among the best in the country."

Season Outlook

Southern Utah opens the year as a team on Jan. 16 at the Lumberjack Team Challenge in Flagstaff, Arizona. The Thunderbirds return to Flagstaff on Jan. 30 for the Ron Mann Classic, giving them another chance to compete at altitude early in the season.

That same weekend, SUU will also send athletes to the UW Invite in Seattle from Jan. 30–31. The meet regularly draws some of the top programs in the country and provides athletes with opportunities to hit fast marks on Washington's oversized indoor track.

February brings a busy stretch, starting with the Wolf Pack Classic in Reno, Nevada, on Feb. 5–6. The Thunderbirds remain in Reno the following week for the Battle Born Classic from Feb. 13–14. Additional athletes will head to Pocatello, Idaho, that weekend for the Mountain State Games hosted by Idaho State, giving the team a chance to place athletes in meets that best fit their events.

The postseason begins Feb. 27–28 when Southern Utah travels to Spokane, Washington, for the Western Athletic Conference Indoor Championships. The meet returns to The Podium, a facility known for producing strong performances on its banked track.

The indoor season wraps up at the NCAA Indoor Championships on March 13–14 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where qualifiers will compete against the nation's best inside the Randal Tyson Track Center.
