Flagstaff, Arizona- The Thunderbirds men's and women's Track and Field Teams finished up competition in the Ron Mann Classic on Friday, Jan. 31.
Head Coach Eric Houle Said:
"It was a very good outing for SUU Track and Field today, with a school record and top 10 performance in the women's pole vault and men's pole vault. Jaedyn Carpenters victory in the 400 was impressive, and our 4x4 teams are getting stronger with each meet."

Men's Recap and Results
Jaedyn Carpenter led the way for the men's team, securing a first-place finish in the very tight 400-meter race with a time of 46.94, finishing .01 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
James Butterfield had a top-ten finish for the Thunderbirds in the one-mile race, finishing tenth with a time of 4:39.56. Isley Gutierrez finished seventh in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.42.
Daniel Gee finished seventh in the Pole Vault with a jump of 15'05".
The 4x400 meter relay team of Jaedyn Carpenter, Nick Pembroke, Kody Smith, and Jared Sharp finished second with a time of 3:15.56.
Womens Recap and Results
The Thunderbirds had two athletes finish tied for sixth in the high jump, both Melissa Crane and Chloe Bingham tied for sixth with jumps of 5 '01". In the weight throw, Morgan Blackburn finished seventh with a throw of 46'06", and Brooke Lynch finished eighth with a throw of 45'06.25".
Ariana Baker finished second in the Pole Vault and set her new personal and school records with a jump of 12 '11.50".
In the one-mile run, the Thunderbirds had two top-ten finishes, with Audrey Hales finishing seventh with a time of 5:21.56 and Lydia Forsyth finishing ninth with a time of 5:22.64. Savannah Nielson finished fifth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.66.
In the 800-meter run, Andie Rasmussen finished eighth with a time of 2:18.86, while Kimberly Winward finished tenth with a time of 2:21.12. In the 200 meter run, Jordyn Nielson finished sixth with a time of 25.21.
The 4x400 meter relay team of Andie Rasmussen, Maya Benjamin, Jordyn Nielson, and Mia Kauffman finished second with a time of 3:53.30.

After a week off, the Thunderbirds will be back in action on Feb. 14 at the Husky Classic and the Whitworth Invitational.
