Spokane, Washington- The Thunderbirds wrapped up competition at the WAC Indoor Championship on Saturday, Mar. 1 at the Podium on the campus of Whitworth University.
Head Coach Eric Houle said:
"The WAC championship was an outstanding meet for the team. Considering we're a very young team and in the rebuilding phase, our performances were exceptional. The team ended with impressive performances that we can carry into the outdoor season."

Men's Recap & Results
Jaedyn Carpenter led the way for the men's team, becoming a WAC champion by finishing first in the 400-meter race with a time of 46.65. This set his personal record and is second all-time only behind Dylan Gibson, who set the record last year with a time of 46.32.
Jared Sharp competed in the Heptathlon and would end up finishing 8th overall with a point total of 4802. Jared also finished first in the Heptathlon's 1000-meter race with a time of 2:36.93.
Jackson Stark finished eighth in the shot put with a top throw of 47 '01.50", while Santiago Gaitan impressed with a second place finish in the mile run with a time of 4:08.40, and also placing second in the 3000 meter race with a time of 8:21.
Also in the mile run, Logan Peel finished fifth with a time of 4:12.82, and Richard Crane finished sixth with a time of 4:12.99.
Isley Gutierrez followed up Santiago's impressive finish by finishing fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.09.
The 4x400 meter relay team of Jaedyn Carpenter, Noah Bringhurst, Jackson Tarver, and Jared Sharp finished second with a time of 3:12.94.

Women's Recap & Results
Melissa Crane competed in the pentathlon and finished in ninth place with a point total of 3208. Melissa finished third in the pentathlon's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.93.
In the Pole Vault, Makenna Skoczylas finished fourth with a top jump of 12 '04.75", while Ariana Baker finished ninth with a top jump of 11' 10.75". Morgan Blackburn had a top ten finish in the weight throw, finishing ninth with a top throw of 49'01.75".
Savannah Nielson finished fifth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.61. In the high jump, Chloe Bingham finished fourth with a top leap of 5 '05.25".
