Cedar City, Utah—The Thunderbirds have a quick turnaround this week. They will compete at the UVU Collegiate Invite starting Friday, March 28.

"This weekend's meet will allow all our athletes to compete since the indoor championship. I'm hoping with good weather, our athletes will be able to post some good marks."

Men's Last Time Out:
Santiago Gaitan led the way for the men's team last time out at the Utah Tech Invitational. He finished second in the 5000-meter run with a time of 14:25.74, and he would also finish fourth in the 1500-meter run with a time of 3:51.03. Isley Gutierrez finished second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.61.
Kadan Allen finished second in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:52.15. In the Javelin throw, Bronis MacDougall finished second with a throw of 209'9", and Jackson Roybal finished fifth with a throw of 166'0".
Jackson Stark finished sixth in the shot put with a throw of 48'5 ½", and he would also finish eighth in the discus throw with a throw of 128'7".
Women's Last Time Out:
The women's team was highlighted by Bella Evans, who led the way with two first-place finishes. Bella finished first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:14.29 and first in the 3000-meter run with a time of 10:12.89.
Morgan Blackburn also impressed by finishing first in the discus throw and setting a new meet record with a throw of 155'11".
Some other strong performances from the meet included Logan Lewis finishing fifth in the javelin throw with a throw of 132'2". Josii Johnson finished fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:18.43. In the 3000-meter run, Lydia Forsyth finished fourth with a time of 10:30.20. Jaylee Gandert finished fifth in the discus throw with a throw of 122'2".
