ST. GEORGE, UTAH -- The SUU Women's Golf team hosted its home golf tournament in St. George, Utah, at Sunbrook Golf Club. The Thunderbirds finished in a tie for eighth.

Head Coach Caylyn Ponich said

"We always love the opportunity to host and compete on our home turf. It was a tight race from start to finish, which made for an exciting event. We had our ups and downs, but that's all part of the game. All we can do is take those moments as learning experiences and use them to perform better every time we step on the course. I saw so many great things from the team this week, and I'm excited to see the girls reflect on those positives and carry that momentum forward."

The Thunderbirds

Sirirporn (Orchid) Luangnam opened the tournament with rounds of 74 and 70 and was just one shot back of the lead heading into the final 18 holes. A final round 76 saw her finish T10 to lead the Thunderbirds.

Tanyatorn (Excel) Thalangkarn finished T25 after an opening round of even par and a final round 75. Anais Guibal led the Thunderbirds in the final round with a +2, 74 that included three birdies. 

Ellie Olsen played some quality golf, shooting under her season stroke average for all three rounds and finishing T48 at +18.

Tijana Jovicevic Kovacic finished T55, with her best round coming on the final day, a 77. Reece Bandemer also had her best round on the final day, shooting a 78, which led to a T60 finish. Kirstin Hall finished T63, and Camrynn Zufelt finished 75.
