LAS CRUCES, N.M. - Saylar May fired an even-par 72 to lead Southern Utah women's golf during Tuesday's second round of the Golf Iconic Classic at the New Mexico State University Golf Course.
May climbed nine spots on the individual leaderboard into a tie for 26th at two-over 146 (74-72), leading the Thunderbirds through 36 holes of the 54-hole tournament.
Southern Utah improved its team score by five strokes Tuesday, posting a 308 after opening with a 313 on Monday. The Thunderbirds sit 19th at 45-over 621 (313-308) heading into Wednesday's final round.

Saylar May led the way for Southern Utah with an even-par 72, improving two strokes from her opening-round 74.
May recorded birdies on the par-5 fourth and eighth holes while collecting 14 pars during her second round. Her 72 was the lowest score posted by a Thunderbird Tuesday and moved her nine positions up the leaderboard into a tie for 26th at two-over 146.
Siriporn (Orchid) Luangnam delivered Southern Utah's second-best score of the round with a four-over 76. Luangnam improved six strokes from her opening-round 82, moving nine positions up the leaderboard into a tie for 91st at 14-over 158 (82-76).
Luangnam's second round featured a birdie on the par-4 seventh hole and 12 pars, providing the Thunderbirds with another improved score in Tuesday's lineup.
Rosalie Langlois sits tied for 91st at 14-over 158 (78-80). Langlois recorded a birdie on the par-5 eighth during her second-round 80 and has contributed a counting score in both rounds for Southern Utah.
Ellie Schoeffler finished Tuesday tied for 98th at 16-over 160 (80-80). Schoeffler matched her opening-round score with another 80, highlighted by a birdie on the par-3 11th hole.
Jaden Johnson rounded out the Thunderbird lineup with an eight-over 80 in the second round. Johnson sits 102nd at 17-over 161 (81-80), improving one stroke from her opening round.
