CEDAR CITY, UTAH -- The SUU Women's Golf team is heading to Maricopa, Arizona, for the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic on April 2-3. The tournament will be held at the AK-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club.
Head Coach Caylyn Ponich said
"There's a unique energy at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes that makes this competition even more special. This field is competitive and strong and we are happy to be a part of it. We're excited to be here and ready to take on every challenge that comes our way. These next two days are about pushing our limits, embracing teamwork, and leaving everything on the course. The ladies are ready to make every moment count as we prepare for the Conference Championship held at Wigwam GC later this month."
Tournament Details
What: Wyoming Cowgirl Classic hosted by The University of Wyoming
When: April 2-3. Teams will play 36 holes on day one and 18 holes on day two. Both days will be a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start.
Where: Maricopa, Arizona

The last time the Thunderbirds teed it up was the Red Rocks Invitational, which was ultimately shortened to 18 holes due to severe weather complications.Â
Ellie Olsen led the Thunderbirds with one of the best rounds of her career, firing a three over par 75 that saw four birdies. Anais Guibal continued the consistent play we have seen from her all year with a 76 that included two birdies and no double bogeys.
Siriporn (Orchid) Luangnam struggled scoring but still turned in a six-over-par 78.
