CEDAR CITY, Utah - Southern Utah sophomore Arianna Ramirez has once again been named the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Player of the Week after a tremendous weekend at the plate in the Thunderbirds' final home series against UT Arlington.

Ramirez was unstoppable at the plate throughout the weekend, racking up an incredible nine hits, including three singles, three doubles, and three towering home runs. Her bat proved to be a difference-maker for the Thunderbirds, driving in 11 runs during the series. Ramirez showcased her power with a grand slam and a pair of two-run homers, helping lift SUU to the series win.
Beyond her eye-popping power numbers, Ramirez was a model of consistency, posting a remarkable .846 on-base percentage and an astronomical 2.755 OPS against the Mavericks. This marks the second time Ramirez has earned the WAC Player of the Week honors this season.
Ramirez's dominance has been particularly evident during home games this season, where she boasts a sizzling .595 batting average along with six doubles, eight home runs, and 27 RBIs.
With her hot bat leading the way, the Thunderbirds are poised for a strong finish to the season and a run in the WAC tournament.

Southern Utah will travel north to Utah Valley this weekend to take on the Wolverines in the final WAC series of the regular season. The teams will square off with a doubleheader on Friday, May 2, beginning at 3:00 p.m. MT. The series finale will take place on Saturday, May 3 at 1:00 p.m. MT.
