MARICOPA, ARIZONA -- The SUU Thunderbirds Women's Golf team concluded 54 holes of play at the AK-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic.
Head Coach Caylyn Ponich said
"We struggled in the first round, but I was really proud of the team and the way they battled in the second round. Orchid had a really good final round and there are some positives to build off of as we get prepared for the the WAC Tournament!"

The Thunderbirds
SUU shot 335 on the opening 18 holes of the tournament but then turned around and shot 20 strokes better on the second 18 of the day. A final round of 319 helped the Thunderbirds to a 13th-place finish at +105 for the tournament.
Siriporn (Orchid) Luangnam fired a final round of two under par 70, including seven birdies, which propelled her to a 31st-place finish.
Tanyatorn (Excel) Thalangkarn finished T71 with 82, 80, and 83 rounds. Anais Guibal used a second-round 79 to help her to a 77th-place finish. Ellie Olsen fired back-to-back rounds of 81 in the second and third rounds of the tournament, leading to a T78 finish.
Kristen Hall finished 83rd, and Reece Bandemer, who competed as an individual, had a quality round of 78 to close the tournament and finish T78.
