CEDAR CITY, UTAH -- The SUU Women's Soccer team will be at home for the first time this season as the Boise State Broncos visit Cedar City.
Head Coach Kai Edwards said
"Boise State is coming off a Mountain West trophy-winning season. We play one game at a time, and Thursday is the focus. They are a high-tempo team very similar to a couple of our opponents already. Our squad grew up a lot on the road last week versus the top two teams in the Big Sky. Getting the goal and fighting back against EWU was important. Thursday should be a fast-paced game in high heat."
Matchup History
The Thunderbirds have never beaten the Broncos, taking a 0-7-1 record into Thursday. The one tie came back in 2005 in Cedar City. SUU lost 0-3 a season ago at Boise State.

The Thunderbirds
The first two matches of the season featured new faces for SUU. Goalkeeper Jazmyn Brass, midfielder Aubrie Labno, and defender Nao Yasuda lead the team in total minutes played through two games. There have been eight fresh faces to start for the T-Birds in the first two contests, and the team is continuing to bond and work together as a cohesive unit.
Freshman Carly Radke scored the lone goal for the Thunderbirds this season. A ripped shot past the Eastern Washington goalkeeper on an assist from senior forward Sarah Assumma.
Assumma leads the team in total shots with five, while Radke and senior forward Whitney Gardner lead the team in shots on goal with three each.
Senior goalkeeper Jazmyn Brass has proven that she earned the starting position, already amassing 15 saves on 40 total shots faced.
The Thunderbirds have done a phenomenal job being first to the ball; in fact, through two games, the T-Birds have drawn more than double the amount of fouls they have committed.
The Broncos
Boise State opened the season at Idaho State last Sunday, which ended in a 1-1 draw. The Broncos gave up an 89th-minute equalizer to the Bengals after taking a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute.
Senior forward Kenzie MacMillan scored the goal for the Broncos, with Lexi Chatterton and goalkeeper Ava De Leest being credited with the assists.
The Broncos are picked to finish second in the Mountain West, just seven points behind Utah State. They also had three players named to the 2025 Mountain West Watch List: Jillian Anderson, Cindy Conner, and Kaitlyn Slocum.
Anderson was named to the 2024 Mountain West All-Newcomer team after she recorded five goals and five assists in 22 matches as a freshman midfielder.
