SUU XC Hosts 28th Annual High School Meet as Community Service

CEDAR CITY, Utah - For the 28th year, Southern Utah University cross country hosted its annual high school meet as a way of giving back to the southern Utah community.

As a program, they served over 500 youth athletes, offering varsity, junior varsity, and middle school races as part of the SUU High School Cross Country Championships.

The event offers a competition for young racers to show off their talents at Bicentennial Park in Cedar City, while doubling as a fantastic opportunity for the Thunderbirds to bond as a team while making it possible.

Coach Eric Houle said:

"We host this High School Cross Country Meet to wrap up our preseason program. This is our 28th year hosting this competition for high schools throughout the state. This year, we had 44 teams, plus we added a junior high competition. It's a non-revenue service that allows the athletes to give back and serve the community."
