CEDAR CITY, UTAH -- The SUU Women's Soccer team is returning home after back-to-back road games to take on the Rebels of UNLV on Sunday, September 7, at 1:00 p.m.
Head Coach Kai Edwards said
"The Mountain West is a very good soccer conference. We have put together 60 and 70 and 80 minute games, but not 90, YET. To get the result we will need 90 minutes from all."

Matchup History
SUU is 1-10 all-time against the Rebels, with their last win coming in 2018 in Cedar City. The two teams met a year ago in Las Vegas, and the Rebels came away with a 3-1 victory.
The Thunderbirds
Southern Utah is coming off a 1-1 tie at Northern Colorado and a 4-1 loss at the University of Denver last week. The T-Birds now sit at a 0-3-2 record.
The offensive attack has been spread out among the squad through the first five games of the year. Four different Thunderbirds have recorded a goal, with Whitney Gardner burying her first of the season last time out against DU. The assist came from Avery Kyle, who now leads the team in total points (3).
Senior goalkeeper Jazmyn Brass has played every minute in net for the T-Birds, and she leads the Western Athletic Conference in total saves with 29.
The Thunderbirds had 11 shots in the loss at Denver -- the team's third time recording double-digit shots this season.
The Rebels
UNLV currently sits at 1-4-1 early in the 2025 season, most recently earning its first win of the year against UC Riverside on Thursday night.
Michelle Madrid recorded a brace in the Rebels' first win, scoring two header goals, one in the third minute and one in the 73rd minute.
Elesha Magley earned her first career shutout on 10 total shots and three saves against UCR.
Madrid and Torie Reardon are now tied for the team lead in total points on the year (4).
The Rebels have given up 13 goals on the year, and have only scored six.
