POCATELLO, Idaho – Rylan Tebbs made her 42nd career appearance to become the most-capped Cedar City native in program history, and goalkeeper Tatum Trout posted her second straight shutout as the Southern Utah soccer team played Idaho State to a 0-0 draw Thursday, Oct. 8, at Davis Field.
The Thunderbirds earned a point in their first Big Sky road match since returning to the conference and move to 4-6-2 overall and 1-1-1 in Big Sky play. Idaho State goes to 2-6-4 and 0-1-2.
Hometown History for Tebbs
The junior defender from Cedar City started and played 89 minutes on the back line, taking sole possession of the record for most games played by a Cedar City native in Southern Utah history. Tebbs had tied Rachael Hunt (2020-22) at 41 appearances in Sunday's win against Portland State.
Tebbs has now made 42 appearances with 34 starts since 2024 and has started all 12 matches this season. Her 89 minutes Thursday pushed her season total to 992, already more than the 918 she logged in all of 2025.
Trout Extends Clean-Sheet Run
Two days after being named Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week, SUU's first winner of the award since 2018, Trout went the full 90 minutes and made three saves to keep the Bengals off the scoreboard. She has now played every minute of all three Big Sky matches, and the shutout is SUU's fifth of the season.
Trout had help from a back line that included Ashlyn Woodbury and Nao Yasuda, who each played the full 90 minutes, and Brooklyn Bradley, who added 71 minutes in defense and one shot.
Second-Half Push
Southern Utah turned up its attack after halftime, doubling its shot total from three in the first half to six in the second and earning all seven of its corner kicks in the final 45 minutes. The Thunderbirds held a 7-3 edge in corners for the match.
Halle Cowan led SUU with two shots, both on goal, in 89 minutes. Kayleigh Acree also took two shots off the bench in 40 minutes, while Ashlyn O'Malley, Suika Shibutani, Dakota Hansen, Bradley and Miley Grigg each recorded one. Hansen played all 90 minutes in the midfield, and Shibutani added 81 minutes.
Idaho State finished with an 18-9 advantage in shots and a 4-2 edge in shots on goal.
