Yongyuan’s Historic Season Concludes At NCAA Regionals

CLE ELUM, Wash. -- Chanikan (Pluem) Yongyuan's historic freshman season came to a close on Wednesday at the Tumble Creek Club, as she wrapped up play at NCAA Regionals in Cle Elum, Washington.

"All season long Pluem did amazing things for us, and we'll always remember this season and how special it was," SUU head coach Richard Church said. "We can't wait to see what she accomplishes moving forward in her career."

She shot a 77 on Wednesday, which was the highest round of the tournament she had. That brought her three-round total to a seven-over 223. She ended play in a tie for 44th on the leaderboard.

USC, Washington, Northwestern, Arkansas, San Jose State and UCF all advanced to the NCAA National Championships from the Washington Regional, along with Kathleen Scavo from Oregon, Aneka Seumanutafa from Ohio State and Ellie Slama from Oregon State.

While the women's golf season has come to a close for SUU, the men's golf campaign will continue next week with Jake Vincent participating at NCAA Regionals in Stanford, California.
