THUNDERBIRDS WRAP OF REGULAR SEASON AT HOME
Southern Utah University hosts a pair of Summit League matches in the final weekend of the regular season, matching up with first place Oakland University at 3 p.m. on Thursday before closing out the season against IPFW at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Prior to Saturday's season-finale, SUU will recognize seniors Allison Thompson and Erin Wright who will be playing their final match for Southern Utah.

OSTLER EARNS SUMMIT LEAGUE WEEKLY ACCOLADE
Southern Utah University's Shelby Ostler was named the Summit League's Co-Offensive Player of the Week this past Monday. Ostler picked up her first career weekly honor after scoring two goals last week, both coming in SUU's 3-2 double overtime win at Centenary on Sunday. The Riverton, Utah has scored five goals this season with four coming in conference play, ranking her second in the Summit League for goals in conference matches only.

LAST WEEKEND

Southern Utah posted a 1-1 record on its final road trip of the season last weekend, dropping a 2-0 decision to Oral Roberts last Friday before beating Centenary 3-2 in double overtime on Sunday. Shelby Ostler scored two goals and Erin Wright kicked in the match-winner just over four minutes into the final period to give SUU the win.

SUMMIT LEAGUE TOURNAMENT
Southern Utah University will not be competing in next weekend's Summit League Tournament held in Brookings, S.D. Heading into the final weekend of the season, the Thunderbirds find themselves seven points behind fourth place, and with only two matches remaining, SUU finds itself mathematically eliminated from earning one of the four spots in the tournament.

ABOUT THE OAKLAND GOLDEN GRIZZLIES
Oakland University enters the match against Southern Utah University with a 10-5-2 overall record and a 6-0-1 record in Summit League play. The Golden Grizzlies claimed a share of the conference title and the No. 1 seed in next weekend's Summit League Tournament with a pair of wins last weekend. Oakland leads the all-time series with the Thunderbirds 11-1 with SUU claiming its first victory over OU last season, a 4-2 win in Rochester, Mich. Nicole DeLuca owns the conference lead in goals (9) and points (21). Nick O'Shea is in his 16th season as head coach at Oakland.

ABOUT THE IPFW MASTODONS
IPFW enters the week with a 6-9 overall record and four points out of a tie for fourth place in the Summit League standings with a 3-4 conference mark. The Mastodons will play at UMKC on Thursday before facing SUU on Saturday. IPFW leads the all-time series 3-2 with SUU after taking last season's match, 2-1 in Fort Wayne, Ind. Lisa Underwood paces the club with six goals and 14 points while Erin Nayler owns a 1.88 GAA and has posted two shutouts in goal this season. Margaret Saurin is in her fourth season as head coach at IPFW.

BASSETT AND BOOTH IN THE RECORD BOOK
Both junior midfielder Riley Bassett and redshirt-sophomore keeper Charly Booth are enjoying record-setting seasons for Southern Utah University. In the single-season record book, Bassett currently sits second in goals (7), one behind Brooklyn Phillips top mark of eight. She also finds herself third in total points with 14, six away from the Phillips record of 20, second in shots in season (56) and third in career shots (135). Booth has also climbed into the record book, owning three shutouts, the third-most in a season and also recording 83 saves to put herself in fourth place on the single-season saves list.

SOUTHERN UTAH PRODUCING RECORD SEASON
Southern Utah University continues to add to its impressive set of team statistics with a number of stats sitting a top the SUU single-season team record book. Entering the final two matches of the season, the 2010 Thunderbirds sit: second in goals (25), one behind the 2006 team's top mark of 26; second in goals allowed (22); third in points (62); fourth in shots (247); tied for fourth in wins (5). This season, SUU has taken the most corner kicks in single-season history with 78 and produced its best single-season scoring average with 1.67 GPG.

TRIO OF THUNDERBIRDS AMONG LEAGUE LEADERS
Junior midfielders Elyse Alexander and Riley Bassett along with redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Charly Booth find themselves among the league leaders in the most recent set of Summit League stats. Bassett comes into the week leading the conference in shots (55), second in goals (7) and tied for sixth in total points (14). Alexander is tied for sixth in the conference with four assists while Booth comes into the week with the third-most saves (83) and with the ninth best goals-against-average (1.74).

FOUR THUNDERBIRDS NOTCH FIRST CAREER GOALS
Juniors Elyse Alexander, Emily Belnap and McKenzie Hadley along with sophomore Morgan Bridge have each scored their first career goals this season. Alexander and Bridge both scored in the 8-0 route of Embry-Riddle University Aug. 26 while Belnap and Hadley each recorded a goal in the 4-3 defeat at Idaho State University on Sept. 12.

BASSETT, THUNDERBIRDS AMONG NATIONAL STAT LEADERS
The Southern Utah offense comes into the week ranked No. 91 nationally out of 325 Division I teams in scoring offense (1.67 GPG) while junior midfielder Riley Bassett is ranked No. 126 in the country in goals-per-game (0.47).

BOOTH POSTS SCORELESS MINUTE STREAK, RECORDS SHUTOUTS
Earlier this season, redshirt sophomore keeper Charly Booth picked up the first shutout of her first career earlier and posted a 288:18 scoreless minute streak. The Bountiful, Utah native blanked Embry-Riddle University Aug. 25 and William Penn University Aug. 28 after holding Utah Valley scoreless the final 55 minutes of the season-opener. Booth then held Northern Colorado scoreless the first 53 minutes of the match on Sept. 10.

BASSETT HIGHLIGHTS SUU's RECORD-SETTING MATCH
In Southern Utah University's 8-0 victory over Embry-Riddle University Aug. 25, the Thunderbirds set single-game school-records for goals (8) and total points (21), and also tied the single-game record with five assists. Junior midfielder Riley Bassett topped the individual record books by scoring a program-best four goals to give her eight total points which were also a single-game record. No other Thunderbird had ever recorded a hat trick, let alone four goals in a match prior to Bassett.

BASSETT, BOOTH AWARDED SUMMIT LEAGUE WEEKLY ACCOLADES
Riley Bassett and Charly Booth were named Summit League Offensive Player and Co-Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, on Aug. 30. Bassett earned her first career weekly accolade after scoring a single-match school record four goals in the Aug. 25 8-0 victory over Embry-Riddle. She later scored the match-winner in the 2-0 win over William Penn Aug. 28. Booth also earned her first career weekly honor after posting a pair of shutouts during the week, making nine saves to earn her first career shutout in the win over Embry-Riddle and later stopped the only shot-on-goal she faced in the victory over William Penn.
