CEDAR CITY, Utah, Feb. 22 - Southern Utah University's
Jeff Evans has been named The Summit League's Male Golfer of the Week following
his performance at last week's Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational.
The reigning Summit League player of the year, Evans fired a
2-under par 142 to finish tied for fourth at the tournament, which was held Feb.
13-14 at Sunbrook Golf Course in St. George, Utah. He led the Thunderbirds to a
second-place team finish, the team's best since winning the tournament in 2007.
It was Evans' third top-five finish in six tournaments this season.
This is Evans' fifth Summit League Player of the Week honor,
as he received the recognition four times last season.
