Day one
AUSTIN, Texas - Southern Utah University's Preston Myers was the lone competitor for the Thunderbirds on day two of the NCAA Track & Field Preliminaries on Friday, running in the men's 200-meters.
Myers finished his heat with a time of 21.50, putting him 34th in the field of 47. However, the finish was the top mark of Big Sky athletes, besting top qualifiers from Northern Arizona and Montana State. The finish was second best among athletes from universities in the state, narrowly finishing behind Utah Valley's Nicholas Taylor (33rd, 21.48), but ahead of Utah State's Nic Bowens (39th, 21.70).
SUU track & field will wrap up competition at the meet on Saturday with athletes represented in the men's and women's 5k and women's hammer. Fans can follow the meet via stat and video links online at www.suutbirds.com.
