Park City, Utah - The Thunderbird men's golf team wrapped up play at the OGIO Utah Invitational on Tuesday afternoon finishing in 11th place, with Fidel Concepcion finishing tied for 13th, shooting 2-under par.
The event was a two day, three round event at Jeremy Golf and Country Club in Park City.
Concepcion's performance led the Thunderbirds, shooting a 70 in the first round, followed by a 72 in the second before wrapping up the Invitational with a 69 on Tuesday to shoot 211. This was Concepcion's first top-15 finish this season.
Taylor Yardley has the second lowest score for SUU, shooting a 225 (74, 73, 78) over the three days to end up in a tie for 49th.
Bradley Collet was the next finisher for SUU, shooting 233 (81, 76, 76) closely followed by Cedric Young, who shot a 235 (82, 80, 73). Humza Hamid wrapped up the scoring for SUU, shooting a 240 (82, 74, 84).
SUU's Kaige Schuler played as an individual in the event, and shot a 231 (76, 79, 76).
As a team SUU shot a 46-over 898 (307, 295, 296), dropping their score significantly in the second and third rounds.
Houston won the event, shooting 28-under par as a team, followed by Utah State (-15) and Weber State (-5). The Aggie's Seokwon Jeon finished with the lowest individual score of the event, shooting a 12-under 201 (66, 70, 65).
Next up for the men's golf team will be the 2015 Bill Cullum Invitational, which will be played from October 19-20 in Simi Valley, California. That event will wrap up SUU's Fall season.
