CEDAR CITY, Utah - Former T-Bird Hayden Hawks and current T-Bird Mike Tate both competed internationally this weekend in two very different events, and both performed admirably.
Hayden Hawks - Mountain Running Championships
The former T-Bird was in Bulgaria to represent the United States at the 2016 World Mountain Running Championships and helped lead the USA to a Gold Medal finish as a team.
Hawks finished in fourth place with a time of 1:05:02.09, and was second for the Americans.
Hayden's teammate Joseph Gray led the way with a first place finish.
Mike Tate - Canadian 5K Road Championships
Current T-Bird Mike Tate was in Toronto Sunday morning for the Canadian 5K road championships, where he finished in sixth place.
Tate finished with a gun time of 14:30.4 and a chip time of 14:28.6.
In the same race Charles Philibert-Thiboutot ran the fastest 5K on Canadian soil in history, showing how truly strong the field of runners he was competing against was.
