CEDAR CITY, Utah - The Southern Utah soccer team and head coach Fred Thompson have announced the signing of five new Thunderbirds on National Signing Day.

The 5' 4" midfielder was a Colorado State Champion in 2015 and 2018 with Ralston Valley and was a two-time All-Conference selection. She also has earned All-State Academic honors in each of her four seasons at RVHS.
"We're very happy to have Maddie in our program. She possesses the technical skills that allow her to play between the lines and to be extremely dangerous," Thompson said. "Having an attacking midfielder who can pass or strike from distance makes us better.
Amberly Hastings
Amberly Hastings is a 5' 5" midfielder/forward from Gilbert, Arizona. She attends and competes for Gilbert High School and is a member of the AZ Arsenal Soccer Club.
Hastings was named Offensive Player of the Year while also earning All-Region honors in 2017 as she was a member of an Arsenal team that captured a Arizona State Championship. She is also a Golden Scholar and is a member of the National Honors Society.
"I'm excited for what Amberly adds to our group and how she will be able to make an impact on the field. She is positive and has limitless energy," Thompson said. "Because of her attitude and work ethic she continues to steadily improve her game. She will be able to play any of the attacking positions and I expect that she will be a key part of our offense."
Quincey Loveridge
Quincey Loveridge will be coming to Cedar City from Omaha, Nebraska. The 5' 6" defender attends and competes for Millard North High School and the Gretna Prima Green club soccer team.
Loveridge won a Class A Nebraska State Championship in 2018 with Millard North and was a member of a MNHS team that made it to the state championship match in 2017 and 2016. She scored six goals and dished out eight assists between her freshman and sophomore seasons as a Mustang.
"Speed and athleticism are two of Quincey's great qualities. Add to that, her versatility as a player and her willingness to do whatever the team requires and you get a fantastic teammate and a great addition to our program," Thompson said. "We're looking forward to how Quincey enhances our program."
Gabriella Pagani
Gabriella Pagani hails from Agoura Hills, California where she competes for Agoura High School and Eagles Soccer Club.

Pagani earned the Coaches Award her sophomore season and was named Midfielder of the Year in her junior season. She is a two-time All-League Second Team selection and a two-time Scholar Athlete.
"In the middle of the field you need very good soccer players and you need fighters. Gigi is both of those. She loves to defend, to battle, and to win the ball," Thompson said. "Then once she has it, she tends to do something good with it. She will add steel and intelligence in the middle of the park. With her in we will be much harder to break down."
Alia Shatswell
Alia Shatswell also hails from Gilbert, Arizona where she competes for Highland High School and the AZ Arsenal Soccer Club.
Shatswell is a two-time Arizona State Champion with Arsenal and was a member of the 2017 Desert Premier League Championship team. The 5' 8" outside midfielder/forward was the second leading scorer in the 17U National League and was a Far West Regional Finalist in 2018.
