CEDAR CITY, Utah -- The Southern Utah University women's team is set to compete in conference play against the Eastern Washington Eagles on Friday, March 6 in Cheney, Washington. 

Last Time Out

The Thunderbirds most recently faced Boise State where the T-Birds fell 1-6.

Paula Tascon secured the only T-Bird victory in singles play as she faced Boise's Camryn Moortgat. Tascon finished the match 7-5, 6-3.

Georgia Hosking and Zoe Tanti paired in doubles play where the duo fought against Vanessa Timm and Mae McCutcheon. Hosking and Tanti ultimately fell 3-6.

Opponent Preview

The Eastern Washington Eagles currently sit 5-3 overall and 3-0 in the Big Sky Conference in the 2020 season. In 2019, the Eagles wrapped up the season 12-10 overall and 8-2 in the Big Sky.

The T-Birds and the Eagles last faced each other in April of 2019 where the Eagles won the hard fought match 4-3. 

In doubles play, Daniela Cozzi and alumni athlete Ghita Nassik locked in a T-Bird win 6-3. Alumni athlete Jana Weiss and Jessica Stefan also claimed the victory in doubles play 6-3.

Cozzi also competed in the No. 5 singles spot where topped Eastern Washington's Faye Worrall 6-4, 6-3. Stefan also claimed a T-Bird victory in singles 6-4, 7-6.
