SEDONA, Arizona - Chanikan (Pluem) Yongyuan shot par 216 at the Red Rocks Invitational to take seventh overall at the event. Yongyuan finished Round 3 with a four-under-par day as the Thunderbirds took 11th overall.
Tanyatorn (Excel) Thalangkarn finished in 36th with an 11-over-par 216 over her three rounds of competition.
Yongyuan started the tournament with three birdies to shoot one-under-par to finish the first round. Round two ended with three bogeys and two birdies and a five-over-par score. With six birdies, Yongyuan shot four under to finish in seventh place.
Talangkarn shot three over-par in rounds two and three on her way to 36th place.
Anais Guibal finished in 63rd with three birdies and 14 bogeys to finish with a +18 weekend.
With a 23-over-par mark, Torri Thomas finished in 83rd while Elizabeth Hair finished at 34-over-par.
Southern Utah finished in 11th place, ahead of Dixie State, Utah Valley, and Montana.
Grand Canyon University won the team event with Eliska Kocourkova of Northern Arizona winning the individual championship with a two-under-par score.
The Thunderbirds will compete next on April 4 and 5 at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic.
