PHOENIX, Arizona – Southern Utah women's golf team find themselves in 14th (+18) after two rounds of play at the GCU Invitational.
The University of Lousiana Monroe leads the tournament at 9 under par.

Round One
Natcharee (Irene) Thanchitnithithanya played exceptionally well in round one. Tallying 14 pars to go along with a pair of birdies and a pair of bogeys to shoot an even par 72. Good enough for a tie for 15th after round one.
Cornelia Karlsson started her round with two straight bogeys, but was able to get things back on track and finished round one with a 5 over par 77. Putting her in a tie for 55th.
Tanyatorn (Excel) Thalangkarn shot a 78 (T63rd) and Anais Guibal shot a 79 (T70th) in round one.
Round Two
Irene continued to play well as round two got underway but unlike round one, she only made 6 pars but rolled in 5 birdies, including three in a row, but made seven bogeys in the second round to finish at two over par 74. Putting her in a tie for 21st at the end of day one.
Karlsson had a much smoother second round. Making 15 pars and just three bogeys to shoot a three over 75 and put herself in a tie for 53rd.
Guibal improved in her second round, after opening the day with a 79 was able to shave off two strokes for a five over 77 in round two.
Excel shot an eight over 80 in round two.
Head coach Richard Church was very pleased with the play of Irene and is hopeful that it will be followed by some consistency throughout the rest of the year.
The final round will tee off tomorrow Feb 28 at 7am. Awards and trophy presentation will immediately follow the round.
