BOULDER CITY, Nevada – SUU men's golf team is scoring the best it has all season long, shooting even par as a team for just the second time this season. A combined 288 in round two has the Thunderbirds in ninth place in the WAC Championship golf tournament.

The Thunderbirds
Mitchell Abbott has been the epitome of consistency all season long. Another even par round that saw three birdies and three bogeys has Abbott in a tie for 28th on the tournament, he paces SUU.
Rashon Williams had bookend double bogeys in round two, but the other 16 holes were played in seven under par. A birdie on the ninth started a birdie train that was capped off with an eagle on the 13th. Six total birdies and an eagle in round two for Williams, once again showing that he can get as hot as anybody. He sits in a tie for 32nd on the tournament.
Atthasit (Anfield) Srichun and Leo Torres are both tied for 38th at two over par on the tournament. For Srichun a two-under front nine was followed by a three over back nine that led to a one over par 73 in round two. Torres had the opposite type of round, a rough front nine followed by a one-under-par back nine would have him finish at two over par 74.
Jaxon Long also played well, firing a three over par 75 in round two, which has him in a tie for 48th.
All five Thunderbirds still place in the top 50 in the WAC Championship tournament.
The third and final round will tee off Sunday, April 28th.
