2023 SUU Women's Soccer Schedule

CEDAR CITY, Utah –  SUU women's soccer team is coming off a record-setting season and will look to continue their success amongst some of the top programs on the west coast. The 2023 schedule is full of teams from different conferences and multiple teams that competed in the NCAA Tournament a year ago.

"The schedule we put together has a great mix of in-region opponents and out-of-region opponents, which will give us a good feel for what our conference matches will look like." Said head coach Kai Edwards. "We play teams from the Missouri Valley Conference,  the Summit League, multiple teams from the Mountain West, the Big Sky Conference Champions, and the West Coast Conference. We are looking forward to challenging ourselves against some highly competitive and well-run programs." Continued Edwards.

The Thunderbirds will have eight home games, four in the pre-season and four during conference play featuring the likes of Utah State University Eastern on Aug. 9, the season opener. They'll then head on a two and half week road trip, where they'll play at the Herriman Complex against the University of Wyoming on Aug. 12. They'll then play at the University of Nebraska Omaha who was one of the teams in the NCAA Tournament a season ago, Aug. 17. At the University of South Dakota Aug. 19 and at the University of Northern Iowa on Aug. 22.

The Thunderbirds will close out the month of August with a home game against the University of Nevada Reno on Aug. 25 and an away game at Cal State Fullerton on Aug. 31.

September continues non-conference play. Starting with a home stand against former Big Sky Conference opponent and last season's Big Sky Champions, NAU on Sept. 3. Thunderbirds will then head to California for a two-game road trip, starting at the University of the Pacific on Sept. 8 and finishing against San Jose State on Sept. 10.

The final non-conference home game will be Senior Day for the Thunderbirds. On Sept. 14 against Idaho State we invite all our fans to come out and support the seniors on this year's team.

League play will start on the road, with our T-Birds heading south to take on the Trailblazers of Utah Tech on Sept. 24th. After a quick bus ride, they will return home versus Grand Canyon on Sept. 28.

October will contain the rest of league play, starting with a home stand against California Baptist on Oct. 1, followed by a two-game road stretch at UTRGV on Oct. 5 and Stephen F Austin on Oct. 8. Next will be back-to-back home games on Oct. 12 and 15 against Abilene Christian and Tarleton St. SUU will end their season on the road, with their final two games coming at Seattle U on Oct. 19 and ending the regular season at the reigning WAC regular season champions Utah Valley University on Oct. 23.
