AUSTIN, Texas– Southern Utah sophomore Cedar English wrapped up his 2023 campaign with an outstanding effort at the 2023 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships Wednesday evening. English who qualified to compete in the long jump placed 22nd overall.

"He came in as one of the best in the NCAA. The experience is exactly what we hoped for him. Cedar had some problems with his knee and that had an impact on his performance. However, he still performed at a very high level, and the experience will make him a stronger competitor in the future."
During the outdoor track and field season, English participated in several events. Cedar was part of a 4 x 100 relay team that achieved a time of 42.15 seconds at the 2023 Utah Tech Invitational, showcasing outstanding speed and teamwork. In the long jump, English had multiple notable performances throughout the year. He achieved a personal best distance of 7.73m at the 2023 Bryan Clay Invitational which moved him into second in program history. English also competed well throwing the javelin this season.
Overall English posted a very successful 2023 Track and Field campaign. Cedar represented Southern Utah Athletics very well this season and we look forward to his continued success as a T-Bird.
