CEDAR CITY, UTAH -- The SUU women's golf team is heading all the way to Florida for its second tournament of the year. The Babs Steffens Invitational will be held in DeBary, Florida, on February 23-24. The tournament is hosted by Setson University.
Head Coach Caylyn McKinlay said
"We're excited to be in DeBary, Florida, this week competing against teams we haven't had the chance to face before. It's a great opportunity to test ourselves, embrace something new, and continue growing together as a team. We're ready to compete and make the most of this event!"
Tournament Details
What: The 2026 Babs Steffens Invitational, hosted by Stetson.
When: Monday and Tuesday, February 23-24.
Where: The DeBary Country Club in DeBary, Florida.
Who:Â Stetson, Appalachian State, Bryant, Drake, Georgia State, Keiser, LeMoyne, Mount Mercy, UNC Asheville, Palm Beach State, Seminole State, Southern Illinois, Southern Utah, Troy and West Georgia.
Format: The tournament features a 54-hole stroke-play format, with two 18-hole rounds on Monday, Feb. 23, and the final 18-hole round on Tuesday, Feb. 24. Each team will be represented by five golfers, with the top four scores from each round counting toward the team's overall score.

Last time out at The Soboba Spring Classic:
Siriporn (Orchid) Luangnam led the Thunderbirds, finishing tied for 21st at 236 (+20). Luangnam posted three consistent rounds of 80, 78, and 78, showing steady improvement throughout the tournament.
Ellie Olsen followed for SUU with a total of 244 (+28), highlighted by a strong second-round 77. Kiana Roddy finished at 254 (+38), while Kirsten Hall added a 256 (+40). Taylyn Wilson rounded out the lineup with a 259 (+43).
Competing against a solid West Coast field at The Country Club at Soboba Springs, the Thunderbirds continued to gain valuable experience and showed resilience over three demanding rounds. The event marked another step forward for a young SUU squad as it continues to build momentum during the spring season.
