ST. GEORGE, Utah - The Thunderbird women's tennis team picked up their first victory as a team on Wednesday, as they defeated Dixie State 8-1 on the road in St. George.
SUU swept singles play, winning all six matches.
Veronika Rogova won the No. 1 match over Karolin Kukaras in three sets, and the rest of the matches all ended in two sets.
The Thunderbirds also won two of the three doubles matches, only giving up the No. 1 match.
The team had been on the cusp of a victory, after nearly defeating Colorado Mesa last week in St George, but were finally able to put it all together on Wednesday.
Next up for SUU will be three matches in Las Vegas on March 5th and 6th, where they will take on Texas State, Texas San Antonio and UNLV.
