CEDAR CITY, Utah - The Thunderbird women's tennis team picked up their first conference victory on Saturday, as they knocked off the University of Montana 5-2 at home in Cedar City.

SUU opened with victories in doubles play. The T-birds won two of the three doubles matches, only giving up the No. 3 match.

Veronika Rogova won the No. 1 match over Francis Dean in three sets, dominating the first and third set.

The team came out with strong performances after a narrow defeat on Thursday against Northern Colorado 4-3, and were able to carry over that momentum to Saturday.

Next up for SUU will be three matches next weekend as they take on Montana State at home Thursday, then head on the road for Idaho State on Friday, and Weber State on Saturday.
