CEDAR CITY, Utah - The Thunderbird women's tennis team competed at home on Thursday Morning, falling to the Montana State Bobcats 5-2.
The Bobcats started the meet sweeping the Thunderbirds in doubles play, picking up the doubles point.
In singles play, SUU's Veronika Rogova picked up another individual victory in the No. 1 singles match against MSU's Naomi Holopainen with a score of 6-3, 6-0.
Rogova said she is was very happy with the way she played on Thursday, and is excited to see how much better the team is getting as the season goes along.
“It is getting better, we're getting better,” she said. “Hopefully tomorrow we can pick up a win.”
SUU's other point came from freshman Charity Sagiao in the No. 6 match, as she topped Shelby Cerkovnik 6-4, 6-1.
The women's team will continue play at home tomorrow, as the Thunderbirds will head to Pocatello, Idaho, to take on the Idaho State Bengals. The meet is scheduled to start at 12 p.m.
