IRVINE, Calif -- The Thunderbird women's tennis team pulled off the win in a close contest against Bradley University in Irvine, California this weekend.

After Bradley University took the the doubles point, the Thunderbirds fought back to take the match 4-3 in the end.

In the singles competition, Bradley University won a pair of matches in the No. 1 and 4 spots, but the T-Birds responded in all the other matches, taking their opponents down in the end.

Southern Utah University won by forfeit in the No. 6 spot when Bradley did not provide an opponent for the Thunderbirds.

Words from Coach Ketmayura

After the match, head coach Rose Ketmayura commented, "We regrouped really well after losing the double point. I'm very proud of how the girls competed and fought today because it was a really close match."

She continued, "We were up 3-2 and it came down to our No. 1 and 2 spots. Our No. 1 was down 3-0 in the second set after losing the first and our No. 2 was down 4-1 in the second set after winning the first. They dug deep and crawled their way back for the win."

The next match will be on Tuesday, March 13 at 1:30 p.m. in Riverside, California against the University of California Riverside.
