POCATELLO, Idaho -- The Thunderbird women's tennis team suffered a disappointing loss against the Idaho State Broncos in Pocatello, Idaho and the Weber State University Wildcats in Ogden this weekend.

In the singles competition, the Broncos won all but one match, in the which Zoe Tanti broke their run by taking the No. 1 spot for the Thunderbirds, defeating Hristina Cvetokovic of Idaho State. It was a close contest, but Tanti pulled it off 7-5, 7-5.

In the No. 6 spot, Mikala Lowrance took a tough loss in a neck and neck competition, but falling short in the end.

Charity Sagiao put up a good fight for the T-Birds in the No. 3 spot of the doubles competition, but fell in a close contest (7-6).

Continuing on the road, Southern Utah will take on Weber State University in Ogden.

In Ogden, against Weber State University Wildcats, the Thunderbirds put up a good fight, winning some matches in both the singles and doubles competition, but came up short in the end, losing 5-2.

In the doubles competition, Mikala Lowrance and Charity Sagiao came out victorious in the No. 2 spot taking a win for the T-Birds, beating Weber State 6-4. In the No. 3 spot, Laura Martin and Zoe Tanti lost in a very close contest 7-6(4).

Eira Tobrand succeeded in taking out her opponent in the No. 3 spot in the single competition in a close contest, winning the match 7-5, 7-5. Charity followed suit, marking the only other win in the singles competition in the No. 5 spot defeating Dickason of the Wildcats 6-2, 2-6, 6-3.

The Lady T-Birds will regroup and prepare for their next matches on the road in Southern California.
