CEDAR CITY, Utah -- Southern Utah women's tennis team will host Big Sky opponent University of Montana on April 7 in Cedar City.
After defeating Montana State University at home last week, the Thunderbirds have progressed to a 10-7 record.
Opponent Preview: University of Montana
Last season, the University of Montana women's tennis team ended with three wins and 19 losses. Currently, Montana marks seven wins and 11 losses. With good mix of young and experienced players, the Grizzlies roster four underclassmen and four upperclassmen. Adding to the diversity of the team are players from Serbia, Sweden and Ireland.
In the 2016-2017 season, there were no positive records for singles or doubles competitions. At the moment, Julia Ronney is leading the team with 16 wins and 12 losses in the singles competition. In the doubles, Cam Kincaid and Bianca Bostrom lead with 13 wins and 12 losses on the season.
The 2017-18 season is Steve Ascher's 10th year as head women's tennis coach at the University of Montana. The two-time Big Sky Conference Coach of the Year was hired in the summer of 2008. He is accompanied by volunteer assistant coach, Hannah Sulz.

The match against the Montana Grizzlies will be on Saturday, April 7 at 10 a.m. (MST) at Cedar High School.
