CEDAR CITY, Utah - - After three days in Phoenix, Arizona, the Southern Utah women's tennis team prepares for their next match closer to home in St. George as they take on the Dixie State Trailblazers. This match will be rescheduled for a later date due to weather restrictions.

During their match against Grand Canyon University, the Thunderbirds were cut short by the Lopes 2-5. Both Jana Weiss and Jessica Stefan defeated their opponents in the singles play 6-2, 6-2 and 6-3, 7-5.
It was a clean sweep for the Thunderbirds when they took on Arizona Christian 7-0. Big set plays came from Daniela Cozzi, Ghita Nassik, Stefan and Weiss.
Concluding their time in Arizona, the T-Birds played the University of Nevada. With several matches going unfinished, UN defeated SUU 4-0. Nassik and Stefan had a solid match during doubles play but fell short 7-5.
Opponent Preview: Dixie State University (2-0)
The undefeated Dixie State Trailblazers are coming off of a solid season (9-10) and played into the PacWest Championships where they faced Concordia-Irvine and Cal State LA.
Dixie met the Thunderbirds last season in what resulted in a win for SUU 7-2. This season, the Trailblazers breezed past Colorado College 8-1 and defeated Colorado Mesa 4-3.

"I'm excited about the match." Head coach Monroe Walker said, "We haven't played in a while and we are looking to see if things we have been working on will translate to real matches."
Southern Utah's match against the Trailblazers will be rescheduled due to weather.
