OGDEN, Utah - The Big Sky Conference announced the women's basketball all-conference teams Monday morning and junior guard Rebecca Cardenas has been named a 2019 All-Conference Honorable Mention.
Cardenas finished the regular season leading the Big Sky in three-point field goal percentage, scoring from deep at a rate of 44.6 percent. She also finished seventh in the conference in steals at 1.8 per game, 11th in assists at 3.7 per game, 12th in rebounding at 6.7 rebounds per game, and 24th in scoring, averaging 11.1 points per game.
After just three seasons with the Thunderbirds, Cardenas has climbed the ranks of the record book in multiple categories.The El Paso native currently ranks second all-time in career steals with 204 and fourth all-time in career assists with 347. She also holds the third-highest single season records for both steals (83) and assists (149), both set during her freshman season.
Cardenas and the Lady T-Birds will open the 2019 Big Sky Conference Championship Tournament later today when they take on Montana at 5:30 p.m.
