McAllister and Montgomery Break School Records at BYU Robinson Invite

PROVO, Utah -- Southern Utah University Thunderbird track and field athletes Alexis McAllister and Devon Montgomery broke school records in the javelin and 400-meter hurdles at the BYU Robinson Invitational.

McAllister began Saturday's events by breaking her own school record in the javelin with a mark of 157' 9". This is the junior athlete's third time breaking the record during the 2019 campaign.

Montgomery continued to break records as he competed in the 400-meter hurdles. The athlete finished with a time of 51.47 placing third in the competition. Montgomery continued to win the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.05.

Also on the track, Destiny Tolliver competed in the 110-meter hurdles where she finished with an altitude adjusted time of 14.10. This time ranks seventh in SUU history. Tolliver was followed by Emma Aldred with an altitude adjusted time of 14.39 placing ninth in school records.

The women's 4x400-meter relay team composed of Linnea Saltz, Peyton Green, Rakayla Tyler and Laura Kehr finished second in the competition with a time of 3:47.02. This time ranks the women fifth all time in SUU history.

Saltz also competed in the 400-meter where she finished ahead of the competition with a time of 53.99.

Angie Nickerson claimed the victory in the mile with a time of 4:47.61. George Espino competed in the men's mile where he finished first with a time of 4:11.51.

In the 400-meter, Justin Lewis claimed second place with a season best time of 47.02. Lewis was followed by Tre Harley with a time of 48.26.

Kasey Knevelbaard competed in the 800-meter where he finished ahead of the competition with a time of 1:48.97.

In the field, Skyler Porcaro claimed the victory in the javelin with a mark of 227' 4 ¼".

Jentry Skidmore competed in the long jump where she finished fourth at the meet with a mark of 19' 2 ¼". This time ranks Skidmore second in school records. The field athlete was followed by Elizabeth White in sixth with a mark of 18' 6" breaking into school records. White's final mark ranks fourth in SUU history.

The Thunderbirds will compete at the Payton Jordan Invitational on May 2 before appearing at the Big Sky Outdoor Conference Championships on May 8.
