CEDAR CITY, Utah - The Southern Utah University Track & Field program is proud to announce that runner Astley Davis has been named the Western Athletic Conference's Men's Field Athlete of the Week after a record-breaking performance at the NAU Lumberjack Team Challenge.

Head Coach Eric Houle Said:

"Astley is one of the most consistent Athletes on the team. We can always count on him and his performances when we need them most."

This recognition comes after Davis' performance in the triple jump, where he placed first with a distance of 50'10.00", smashing the previous school record, and the long jump, where he secured a second-place finish and a distance of 24'03.75".

Davis has been one of the most impressive athletes for SUU since his arrival from the University of Mary, where he was an NSIC champion and All-Conference performer.

Last season, Davis captured All-American status with an impressive 8th-place finish at the 2023 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Davis broke the Southern Utah track and field outdoor program record in the process, triple jumping 16.17m.
