Quotes From Head Coach Tara Oglesby
"SUU is one of four universities that get a player exemption in the Copper Rock Championship. We are super excited that Anais will represent SUU. She has been practicing very hard, and I am excited to see her compete at such a high level."

Organizers of the fourth annual tournament in Hurricane, scheduled May 16-18 at Copper Rock Golf Course, have awarded sponsor exemptions to SUU's Guibal, a junior from Montpelier, France, and golfers from three other college teams. She will join Utah Tech's Grace Williams, an Australian native, and BYU's Lila Galea'i and UNLV's Thienna Hyunh, who grew up in the United States with Pacific Islander and Asian heritage, respectively.

The Epson Tour is the Official Qualifying Tour of the LPGA and is also known as the "Road to the LPGA." Since 1999, the mission of the Epson Tour has been to prepare the world's best young women professional golfers for a successful career on the LPGA Tour. A schedule of 20+ events worth more than $3 million in prize money provides the backdrop for developing these players into the LPGA Tour's next generation of stars.

As the Thunderbirds roster illustrates, women's golf is an international game. Guibal will blend right into the cultural mix of the field in the LPGA Epson Tour's Copper Rock Championship.

The Epson Tour, includes members from some 30 countries.

In September, Guibal and her teammates learned that SUU would be included among the Copper Rock Championship's exemptions for 2024. Guibal was thrilled to be selected. "To be chosen by my coach proves that she's really trusting me to represent the school. … I always try to have a positive attitude. I was very happy that she recognized that," said Guibal.

She has competed on some big stages in Europe and hopes to benefit from what she learns at Copper Rock.

"No matter the outcome," she said, "it will be a great experience for me and a good opportunity to represent SUU."
